A photovoltaic solar tile that comprises a ceramic tile, with a slot or concavity in its central part, for receiving a miniature photovoltaic module encapsulated in EVA and on a resin support, said miniature module being formed by a number of cells of semiconductor material (that are joined together by means of conductor wires, two unipolar connectors that pass through said tile via orifices made in the upper part of said slot, and a hardened crystal produced in a transparent or semi-transparent material, located on said miniature module and engaged in said slot or concavity. The miniature photovoltaic module collects solar radiation and converts it into electrical energy by means of the photovoltaic effect. The solar tile of the invention may be placed on a conventional new roof or an existing roof, by combining photovoltaic tiles and conventional tiles without an appreciable difference in appearance.
