The invention relates to a device and a quick and simple method for ascertaining two properties of a granular material, such as the internal friction angle and cohesion thereof, which determine the degree of fluidity of same. The inventive device is based on a method that uses fluidisation to obtain an initial reproducible state and a gas as a compaction agent in order measure the response of the material as a function of the previous consolidation state thereof in a range of low consolidation operations.
