A photovoltaic module comprises a plurality of photovoltaic cells, electrically interconnected to define a photo-active surface. The photovoltaic cells being closed between a front covering layer and a back covering layer which are electrically insulating, the front covering layer being frontally covered by a frontal covering element having a mechanical protection function for the photovoltaic cells. The back covering layer being posteriorly supported by a support element, the support element being a ceramic slab of a limited thickness.
