The durability of certain products used in roofing tiles depends on the boundary conditions during freezing as well as the texture of the porous material. The present article is an attempt to understand the effect of these boundary conditions on the physical state of the liquid phase during its solidification. From the experimental strains, the pressure developed in the porosity is calculated and thus the pressure of crystallization is identified. This step allows the pressure of the liquid phase to be deduced. For saturated products, the water is subjected to an overpressure during the freezing test and placing a wet cloth in contact with the tiles can increase its magnitude.
